Feel as if time stood still
Dysport is a paralytic agent derived from botulinum neurotoxin used to “freeze” or stop our muscles’ natural movements that cause skin creasing. Dysport can also be to treat migraine headaches and prevent teeth grinding or jaw pain as well.
Fillers, such as our Restalyne products, are made up of hyaluronic acid gel used to enhance or correct our facial structures.
“Lines of expression need Dysport and lines at rest need filler.”
Dysport is ideal for fine lines and wrinkles; areas commonly treated with Dysport include frown lines, crow’s feet, and the “11” between the eyebrows. Fillers are great for lip plumping and smoothing, filling deep lines, facial and jaw contouring, and correcting volume loss in the cheeks or midface.
Depending on the patient, Dysport usually lasts about 3-4 months and most fillers will last 6-12 months. Other factors can affect the longevity of injectables including daily activity levels, diet, sun exposure, muscle strength, and other patient-specific considerations.
The effects of Dysport can take 3-7 days, while the effects of fillers can be seen immediately. Once the swelling from your filler injections subsides, the results won’t look as pronounced.
The most common side effects for both Dysport and fillers include bruising and bleeding at the injection site, swelling, and discomfort. It is important to find a qualified and trusted doctor or nurse to perform your injections to avoid any negative side effects.
