When considering having a plastic surgery procedure, there is a lot to consider before making your final decision. Of course, you’re weighing your options with the surgeon, credentials, track record, safety record, price and more but have you considered the “where” you will have your procedure?

Where should I consider my procedure?
Here at Carolina Coastal Plastic Surgery Center and Medical Spa in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, our patients are all cared for inside our building from consultation to post-op. All plastic surgery procedures and med spa procedures are done within the facility, but this isn’t the case for all surgery offices. We happen to have a certified and accredited facility. This means Dr. Steven K. White can perform all procedures within our plastic surgery center. If you are considering a surgeon who is operating in a facility that is not certified and accredited, you need to stop and reconsider right away!
Some surgeons who do not that their own facility will perform their procedures in a hospital or outpatient surgical center. An accredited faculty is one that must meet very strict national standards for equipment, operating room safety, personnel, and surgeon credentials. We take this very seriously and are proud to have this distinction for more than 20 years.
Some of the advantages of being an accredited facility include the following:
- Extremely low rate of serious complications (less than half of 1%)
- Extremely low mortality rate (less than one in 57,000)
- Lower costs to perform surgery (we pass that savings on to our patients)
- The ability to receive around the clock care by no less than two licensed staff members at all times
- Ability to treat complications on site and we have an emergency plan in place should a complication arise
