A “Mommy Makeover” is a combination of surgical procedures designed to help restore a woman’s shape after her body has undergone pregnancy, childbirth and nursing. Pregnancy, delivery and breastfeeding may cause different problems for different women, therefore a “Mommy Makeover” will be unique for each.
Mommy Makeovers usually combine some form of breast surgery and body contouring surgery and may include some combination of a Tummy Tuck, Breast Lift, Breast Implants, Liposuction, Lower Body Lift or Brazilian Butt Lift.
Many women find their abdomens have permanently changed after pregnancy. These changes may include stretch marks, loss of abdominal muscle tone, excess skin and extra fat deposits that have accumulated since having babies. Because the muscles of your abdominal wall are permanently separated after pregnancies and because loose skin is a matter of elasticity and not exercise, a million sit-ups will not help!
After pregnancy and/or nursing, many women experience moderate to severe stretch marks on their abdomen. There is no cure or reversal for stretch marks, although they may lighten and become less noticeable over the years. A Tummy Tuck can remove a significant amount of excess abdominal skin, which in turn will eliminate some of your stretch marks.
Pregnancy adds fat to our bodies and because breasts are mostly made of fat, there’s no telling where the resulting loss of volume will rearrange itself after childbirth and nursing. Your breasts may be saggy, droopy, and less full than before. No matter if it’s a swimsuit or in the buff, having breasts that are more full and taught will give you back your confidence!
During pregnancy and childbirth your body goes through so many changes. Even with post-pregnancy diet and exercise some changes cannot be reversed without surgery. Choosing a “Mommy Makeover” will help you reclaim your body so that you can look and feel like yourself again!
Every woman is affected differently during and after pregnancy and childbirth, but some of the common issues caused by pregnancy including a protruding belly wall, loose skin, deflated breasts, stretch marks and stubborn pockets of fat. Because these changes to the shape of our body are usually not pleasing to us, we seek out solutions to get back to our pre-pregnancy contour. The only way to get your body contour back to your pre-pregnancy shape is usually through plastic surgery.
As amazing and wonderful as it is to be a mom, what is left of our bodies after pregnancy and nursing can seem almost alien to us. It can be frustrating to look in the mirror and see someone that you barely recognize as you. Taking back your body so that it looks and feels closer to your pre-pregnancy shape will give you a renewed sense of self and boost your confidence. This can be very rewarding in many ways, including restoring your self-esteem and even putting the spice back into your sex life!
