Looking to Downsize?
Dr. White performs a specialized Laser liposculpting technique in which the breasts can be reduced without leaving the visible scars found after traditional breast reduction.
This unique technique of Laser liposuction offers several advantages compared to traditional methods. These include less trauma to the breast, faster recovery, few visible scars, and fewer postoperative complications, improvement in shoulder and neck pain, and more natural appearing and immediate results.
Laser liposuction breast reduction will produce a smaller version of the breasts that a woman had before the procedure. The breasts overall shape will be very similar to their shape prior to the procedure, only smaller in size.
The best candidates for the Scarless Breast Reduction are in women who:
- Are interested in reducing the size of their breasts, but do not want a breast lift or incisional scars
- Have good skin tone and minimal sagging
- Would like to have a smaller, more youthful and proportioned breasts with a faster recovery.
- Have breasts that contain a larger proportion of fat. If you have more glandular tissue or sagging breasts, a traditional breast reduction is indicated.
- Do not have pendulous breasts (indicates more glandular than fatty tissue)
- Do not have pendulous breasts (indicates more glandular than fatty tissue)
During your consultation Dr. White, will determine if you are an excellent candidate for the scarless breast reduction procedure.
Traditional Breast Reduction VS Laser Liposuction Reduction
Traditional Breast Reduction
Scars: The surgical scars from traditional breast reduction are placed around the areola, vertically down the center of the lower breast, and in the breast crease. The scars typically fade to appear as a fine white line.
Recovery: Recovery requires about four to six weeks for swelling to diminish and bruises to resolve. Scars will slowly fade over time, hidden when wearing tops, bras, or swimsuits. Your physical activities will be limited during recovery.
Results: Results of surgical breast reduction are very positive for women, who can finally achieve relief from back, shoulder, and neck pain. Breasts are reshaped, and nipple structure moved and corrected if overlarge or low on the breast.
Safety: Any surgery carries some degree of risk, and traditional breast reduction is no exception. Complications are rare but can include infections and reactions to general anesthetic.
Candidates: Women who have overlarge breasts that sag, with misshapen or large nipples pointing downwards, and do not have firm, flexible skin. If most of the excess tissue is glandular, rather than fat, this treatment is advised.
Laser Liposuction Breast Reduction
Scars: A liposuction breast reduction surgery is considered “scarless,” as the incisions are very small, with two in each breast, each about 3 mm in length, almost invisible to the eye once healed.
Recovery: Recovery is far less extensive than experienced with a traditional breast reduction, with some moderate swelling and bruising for several weeks. You will need to wear a soft bra without underwires for about six weeks.
Results: Results of scarless breast reduction are very positive. The breasts look as they did prior to the procedure in shape, but smaller, leading to greater comfort and a more balanced figure.
Safety: Scarless breast reduction is a safe procedure, performed under deep sedation or general anesthesia. The treatment is not risk-free but considered very safe when performed correctly.
Candidates: Women who want smaller breasts and have good skin tone, limited sagging, and an excess of fatty breast tissue, rather than glandular tissue, may be good candidates for scarless breast reduction.
About the procedure
Dr. White performs his Scarless Breast Reductions as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with deep sedation or under general anesthesia, administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist. The procedure usually takes between one to two hours.
About the recovery
Patients are discharged home with light dressings and a comfortable, form-fitted bra. Soft bra support (without underwires) is encouraged for 4 to 6 weeks. Slight to moderate bruising and swelling are common for several weeks. There is a gradual decrease in postoperative swelling over several years. A self-massaging protocol is initiated after several weeks to maintain breast softness. Patients are allowed to shower several days after their procedure.
Patients are surprisingly free of discomfort due to the long-acting local anesthetic injections and nerve blocks. Pain after this procedure is unusual. Patients tell us they feel much better than expected following their surgery and are able to return to work and social activities within several days.
Light exercise can be resumed after several weeks and an unrestricted return to all activities within six weeks.
Risks of surgery
When performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, the risk of serious problems after the Scarless breast reduction are rare. Specific risks and the suitability of a breast reduction procedure for a given individual can be determined at the time of consultation. You can reduce your risk of complications by closely following your surgeon’s instructions both before and after surgery.
